An empirical study of work-family conflict affecting women executives working in service sector

Growing urbanization has also resulted in the increased employment of women in the service sector. Even though women have entered diverse work areas, but their work life is still influenced by traditional male norms. Women executives often experience high demand for their time which leads to the creation of opportunities for stress and conflict within and across both work and family domains. A sample of 200 women executives working in service sector has been taken from various states of Punjab (India).  The main aim of the study is to determine the work-family conflict faced by women executives in service sector.  The six factors affecting women executives have also been identified. Various statistical tools namely factor analysis and one way ANOVA was used for analyzing the data. The study has found significant relationship between socio-demographic variables of women executives and factors affecting them.
