Citation Analysis of University News

Citation analysis of 2577 citations from 233 articles published in University News Vol. 49, No. 1-52 January 2010 to  December 2011 shows that the journal is a valuable source of information on developments in the field of higher education in general and in the field of Indian higher education in particular. The very fast increasing number of the Indian Universities (over 200) and deemed Universities (over 100) are generating the vast information about the higher educational system, research, challenges, opportunities and all related issues. The ‘University News’ is only Indian journal referred widely all over the world for the authentic information about Indian higher education.  This paper analyse the different bibliographic forms, authorship pattern, different websites domains, geographical distributions and ranking of cited journals.
